Welcome to Nappies and Nits Childcare, a homely and friendly setting for your child.
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder with nearly 30 years’ experience and a level three diploma. I look after no more than three children under the age of five at one time, so your child has a lot of one-to-one attention. This is important for younger children as it prepares them for the transition to school or nursery, helping them to develop their social skills, confidence, and self-esteem.
My setting is mainly child led, observing what your child can already do and building on that. I see what toys your child enjoys playing with, what their interests, likes and dislikes are. I can then choose appropriate activities to develop their interest.
I also read their favourite books and have lots of conversations to extend their vocabulary.
I encourage their independence by teaching about health and hygiene, how to put their coats and shoes on and how to speak clearly with others. This prepares them for the transition to school.
They also learn to listen to others, to think for themselves, ask questions, and be inquisitive and curious.
I encourage your child to be kind, caring, and thoughtful to other people and animals.
Most of all, I want your child to feel happy and safe at our setting and have lots of fun by learning through play.
We have a fully enclosed garden with lots of stimulating toys and equipment. We have messy craft days, outings to local parks, farms, nature reserves etc.
There is ample parking space for pickups and drop-offs.
If you would like an appointment to discuss your child’s needs, please phone or fill in the contact form.
